EMERGENCY RELIEF

The EPC’s National Leadership Team authorizes emergency relief offerings as needs arise. Any donations to a specific emergency relief fund that exceed local recovery requests from an affected EPC church will be held in a general EPC Emergency Relief Fund to be used for future emergency relief needs.

SYRIAN REFUGEE RELIEF

In response to what is being called the worst humanitarian crisis of our time, the EPC has launched an emergency relief fund to help with the Syrian refugee crisis in the Middle East and Europe. The EPC is joining with church partners in Lebanon, Turkey, and Germany to not only assist refugees with physical needs, but also to share the gospel to meet their spiritual needs.

Under the direction of the EPC World Outreach Committee, donated funds will be disbursed to:

Provide the Bible in Arabic and Kurdish on mp3 audio players to a church-planting team on the Syrian border, distributed under the direction of an EPC elder (initial cost: $30,000).
Purchase food, clothing, medical, and discipleship materials for distribution to refugees in Lebanon under the direction of World Outreach global workers (initial cost: $50,000).
Send EPC disciple-makers who are fluent in the native languages of the refugees (Arabic, Kurdish, Farsi, Urdu, etc.) to spend two weeks to three months assisting evangelical refugee welcome centers in Europe (initial cost: $20,000).

IRAQI CHRISTIAN RELIEF

In response to atrocities against Christians and others by militant Islamic groups in the Middle East region, including ISIS in Iraq, the EPC has endorsed Christian Aid Mission (CAM), an evangelical relief agency through which EPC churches and individuals can send relief funds.

Since June 2014, CAM has supplied funds to provide food, clothes, medical assistance, and shelter to refugees fleeing Mosul, Iraq. The organization reports that Mosul’s Christian population prior to the ISIS takeover in June 2014 numbered around 35,000 but was facing extermination in the wake of a July order to convert to Islam or be killed. Most have since fled the region to Kurdish-controlled areas in northern Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, and other locations. Click here for more information.

Please give generously, either by credit card by clicking on the Click to Donate button (Choose “Emergency Relief” from the first pulldown menu and “Iraqi Christian Relief (018)” from the second pulldown menu) or by check payable to Evangelical Presbyterian Church and designated Iraqi Christian Relief; send to:

Evangelical Presbyterian Church
5850 T.G. Lee Blvd., Suite 510
Orlando, FL 32822

All funds will be forwarded directly to Christian Aid Mission. Thank you for helping provide relief to those in need.
