2018 GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining FORWARD to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14 ESV).

Check back for updates, as more information is added frequently. Use these quick links to navigate to the appropriate section:

Hope Church is in Cordova, a suburb on the east side of Memphis. The church campus is south of Interstate 40 and east of Interstate 240, just east of Shelby Farms Park. Parking lots are accessible from two entrances on Walnut Grove Road. Building entrances for GA are 1, 2 and 3. Handicap parking is available directly in front of entrances 2 and 3 (west lot). Those bringing children should park closest to entrance 3. Blue dot parking is for those who need close parking but aren’t eligible for a handicap spot.

Descending Overture 17-A

To amend Book of Government 9-6A and 10-8B.2a to specify the term of service for an out-of-bounds call to be for a renewable term of up to three years, bringing consistency to the two sections.

To amend Book of Government 21-2D.2e and f, expanding areas of ongoing authority that may be given to the Ministerial Committee at the discretion of the presbytery.

Descending Overture 17-C

To amend Book of Government 10-7, creating and defining the called position of “Transitional Pastor.”

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Rental cars are encouraged for those flying into Memphis, since there is no commercial shuttle service to the Cordova/Germantown area and the hotels are approximately 10-15 minutes (driving) from the church. There is plenty of parking at Hope Church. In addition, shuttle service between hotels and Hope Church will not be provided. Carpooling is a good option (or using Uber or Lyft) for those who do not have personal transportation and do not want to rent a vehicle.

To reserve a vehicle at special discounted GA rates, click the car rental company you prefer.
