Discipleship "Be Free" Resources

photo credit: Justin L. Doty, Great Divide PhotographyGod commands His disciples to embrace their true identity in Christ. God brings us into His family through faith in Christ. Jesus atoned for human sin when He died a dreadful death on the cross and rose from the grave. He sits at the right hand of the Father, and the Holy Spirit lives in us. Thus, believers have union with God which effectively breaks the hold that sin and Satan had on them.

God heals wounds and removes scars incurred in painful situations and relationships. He frees believers from bondage to ungodly patterns of thinking and behaving. He silences Satan. Disciples pursue holiness by devoting themselves to the spiritual disciplines such as prayer, meditation on Scripture, practicing the Presence of God, and service. They draw near to God in full assurance of faith and open themselves to His healing touch. They believe the promises of God. They confess their sins and forgive others. They walk in grace and forgiveness that Jesus obtained for them at the cross.
