The 34th General Assembly takes place at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. It begins on Tuesday, June 17 with a Chaplains Workshop, a mini-workshop on “Healthy Habits for a Sustainable Life and Ministry” a World Outreach Meet and Greet, and a World Outreach dinner and program. The Assembly Workshop on Wednesday, June 18 will be led by Bob Roberts (pastor of NorthWood Church in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area) on the topic of “Transformation.” We look forward to hearing from Tim Keller at the Wednesday evening worship service hosted by Cedar Springs. Business sessions begin on Thursday morning June 19 and conclude around noon on Saturday, June 21.
February is the time to start planning who will be coming. Taking the following steps will help Cedar Springs and the General Assembly staff prepare for your arrival.
- February: Election of Commissioners. Report elected Commissioners by using the Commissioner Certification Form available on the 2014 General Assembly web page.
- April: Registration. At the beginning of April, online registration will be available from the 2014 General Assembly web page.
- May: Memorials: The Committee on Memorials and Appreciation welcomes the responsibility of compiling and then remembering and honoring those Ruling Elders and Ministers who have died since the previous Assembly year (June – June). A form and instructions is available on the 2014 General Assembly web page.
Hotel and ground transportation information will be posted and updated on the 2014 General Assembly web page. Please ensure that registration for certified commissioners is completed by May 31, on June 1, all registration costs increase significantly.
