Mission/Vision

A simple definition of mission will return something like this:

mis·sion | /ˈmiSH(ə)n/ | an organization’s or individual’s purpose or reason for being.

Similarly, a simple definition of vision might be:

vi·sion | /ˈviZHən/ | paints a picture of the desired future and what the organization or individual strives to achieve.

So a mission states the purpose and a vision allows an individual to picture what it can look like. Both mission and vision guide and direct the decisions we make and how we prioritize our efforts. Toggle below for a reading of our mission and vision.

Mission
Vision

Jesus gave the mission of every church when He gave the Great Commission.
Our mission statement is simply a personalizing of that mission.

The EPC exists to carry out the Great Commission of Jesus as a denomination of Presbyterian, Reformed, Evangelical, and Missional congregations.

To the glory of God, the EPC family aspires to embody and proclaim Jesus' love as a global movement of congregations engaged together in God's mission through transformation, multiplication, and effective biblical leadership.

Every year the EPC hands out the Bart Hess award to a church that models this mission and vision in special ways. Our hope is that these stories might inspire other churches and leaders to continue their pursuit of carrying out the mission and vision in all they do. Below are our last four recipients.
