As tensions in the Middle East continue to rise, Beirut and other cities in Lebanon have suffered attacks in recent days and weeks. These attacks have killed more than 3,000 and displaced 1.2 million people across the country and the threat of increased violence and casualties is growing. We mourn with those impacted on all sides by these events and pray for peace. Our workers in the region are safe and are in close communication with the World Outreach risk and crisis management team. We will continue to do everything in our power to ensure their ongoing safety.
Amid this devastation, World Outreach continues to partner with the local church to bring aid and support in this dark time. According to one World Outreach worker, “Despite the overwhelming challenges, the [local church] took to the streets, serving, loving, caring, and distributing additional mattresses, food, and water to those in desperate need.”
Thank you for your prayers and financial support as we navigate this difficult time. Your support brings encouragement and hope to those in Lebanon. Gifts to the International Disaster Relief Fund make it possible for us to act during this time. Please continue to pray for light to shine in the darkness.
