2023 PASTOR-SPOUSE RETREAT

WELCOMING EPC PASTORS AND THEIR SPOUSES TO ENJOY A TIME OF RENEWAL

What: 2023 Pastor-Spouse Retreat.
When: Monday, October 23, through Friday, October 27.
Where: Glen Eyrie Castle & Conference Center, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Who: All EPC Pastors, married or single.

Pursuing Relational Health

Healthy relationships are crucial to our well-being and ability to thrive in life and ministry. “Relationships are where the rubber of the gospel meets the road of everyday life…where redeemed, restored people live the good news.”

But relationships, whether strong or struggling, have been under tremendous pressure in recent years, and those pressures have done something in us and between us.

We’ll unpack some of those pressures and their impact and explore practical ways to strengthen our relationships in every area of life: family, friendships, church, and community. Each day we’ll interact around key practices that lead to relational health, giving an opportunity to consider God’s gracious invitation to grow in and through our relationships.

We will be led by the excellent Colorado-based staff from PastorServe, who will facilitate our morning large-group sessions and offer free coaching sessions in the afternoons.

We will be together in the mornings but have free time each afternoon to take advantage of PastorServe’s care and coaching services, or just relax and do whatever you want to do. The cost is $550 per person ($1,100 per couple), which includes accommodations for four nights on Glen Eyrie’s breathtaking grounds, and 11 meals in the Castle Dining Room. Don’t miss this opportunity to be refreshed by the Lord in a beautiful place!

Wade Brown

Jeannie Martin

Dave Meserve

Wade Brown serves as Regional Executive Director and VP of Ministry for PastorServe’s Rocky Mountain Region. Prior to joining the PastorServe team, Wade was the Sr. Director of Pastoral Ministries at Focus on the Family in Colorado Springs. He met with pastors across the nation to help facilitate spiritual restoration and renewal in their personal and professional lives.

He served in the U.S. Air Force, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Colorado Christian University and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He’s been a church planter, associate pastor, and teaching pastor in the mega-church environment. Wade and wife, Deb, live in Colorado Springs and are the parents of a daughter and a son.

Jeannie Martin serves as PastorServe’s National Director for Women in Ministry.

The saying “Learn a language, gain a soul” is a great descriptor of the path Jeannie’s life has taken. Not long after graduating from Grace College, she began what would total 20 years of church planting and development in France—first as a single, then later with her husband, Dennis. Commissioned and sent by Encompass World Partners, she learned that ministry in a post-Christian, militantly secular environment must happen through the patient cultivation of trusting, caring relationships. Since being back in her hometown of Colorado Springs, she’s served as support staff in a large, multi-site church where she continually sought opportunities to strengthen the souls of those who strengthen souls. Jeannie joined the PastorServe team in 2018 to continue her ministry focusing on coaching and supporting Pastor’s wives. Jeannie and Dennis are parents of three daughters.

Dave Meserve is an Affiliate Coach in PastorServe’s Rocky Mountain Region. He has been part of Metro Denver’s faith community for more than 30 years. Dave has enjoyed a variety of church and other pastoral experiences all over the front range. Helping churches through significant pastoral transitions has been a particular sweet spot.

He began his ministry career with Cru and also speaking with FamilyLife Ministry while earning a graduate degree in counseling from Colorado Christian University and a Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary. He is the founder of Urban Skye, a unique umbrella organization for faith entrepreneurs through which he continues mentoring, writing, and teaching. Dave and Shari are empty-nesters enjoying their new stage of parenting three adult children. They live in Littleton, Colorado.

WORSHIP LEADER

Matt DePriest

Matt DePriest serves as Worship Arts Pastor for Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Parker, Colorado.

By the grace of God I grew up in a home where the love of Jesus was modeled well. His pursuit of me (and my response to follow Him with my life) was a dynamic I became aware of early on, and continues to be a daily part of obedience and devotion. Music also held a high value in our home, and I grew up with it playing constantly. Some of my first musical memories are of us gathered around the old family piano learning to sing parts out of the hymnal. My first formal music lesson was Suzuki violin at age 5. After a couple painful years of “Mississippi Hotdog” and “Lightly Row,” my parents opted to let me drop violin in exchange for studying the piano which I gravitated toward more naturally and ultimately wound up serving as the foundation for my further studies. By the time I got to college I possessed a deep love of corporate worship and a commitment to the local church. As such I studied music and biblical studies which accordingly prepared me for my first ministry call and set me on a trajectory for vocational ministry. I had the amazing privilege of spending my first seven years in ministry on staff at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin before moving to Colorado to complete my studies at Denver Seminary and join PEPC’s pastoral staff team in 2013. I am blessed to be married to an amazing woman, a true partner in ministry, and my best friend (Sarah), and am the delightedly exhausted father of four fantastic children who are the most tangible reminders of God’s generous love I could ever imagine! Most importantly, I am passionately in love with Jesus and am deeply committed to seeing his kingdom come in my life, and in the lives of his people—the church—as his chosen method for reaching the world.
