HURRICANE MATTHEW RELIEF 

 

Hurricane Matthew Bahamas ReliefIn response to devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew across the Bahamas and the southeastern U.S., the EPC has launched an emergency relief fund to help with recovery efforts. Matthew hammered the Bahamas October 5-6 as a category 3 and 4 hurricane. Donations to the fund will be sent to EPC churches in the Bahamss and the Carolinas that are ministering to those affected by the storm.

Baton Rouge Flood ReliefIn response to unprecedented flooding in southern Louisiana, the EPC has launched an emergency relief fund to help meet the affected population. Donations to the fund will be sent to First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge and other EPC churches ministering to the thousands of people displaced by flooding in the region.

FLINT (MICHIGAN) WATER CRISIS RELIEF 

 

Flint, Michigan, Water Crisis ReliefIn response to the lead-contaminated water crisis in Flint, Mich., the EPC has launched an emergency relief fund to help meet the affected population’s need for clean water, as well as other needs resulting from drinking, cooking, and washing with lead-contaminated water.

Peace EPC (David Galbraith, Pastor) and Calvary EPC (Pete Scribner, Pastor) in Flint are ministering to affected residents, and all donations given to the fund will be sent to the leadership of Peace and Calvary for distribution.

SYRIAN REFUGEE RELIEF 

 

Syrian Refugee ReliefIn response to what is being called the worst humanitarian crisis of our time, the EPC has launched an emergency relief fund to help with the Syrian refugee crisis in the Middle East and Europe. The EPC is joining with church partners in Lebanon, Turkey, and Germany to not only assist refugees with physical needs, but also to share the gospel to meet their spiritual needs.

Under the direction of the EPC World Outreach Committee, donated funds will be disbursed to:

  • Provide the Bible in Arabic and Kurdish on mp3 audio players to a church-planting team on the Syrian border, distributed under the direction of an EPC elder (initial cost: $30,000).
  • Purchase food, clothing, medical, and discipleship materials for distribution to refugees in Lebanon under the direction of World Outreach global workers (initial cost: $50,000).
  • Send EPC disciple-makers who are fluent in the native languages of the refugees (Arabic, Kurdish, Farsi, Urdu, etc.) to spend two weeks to three months assisting evangelical refugee welcome centers in Europe (initial cost: $20,000).

HURRICANE JOAQUIN BAHAMAS RELIEF 

 

Hurricane Joaquin Bahamas ReliefIn response to devastation caused by Hurricane Joaquin across the Bahamas, the EPC has endorsed Caribbean Youth Network (CYN), a Pennsylvania-based mission organization that fosters the planting, partnering, and networking of Christ-centered youth ministry in the Caribbean. The organization has set up a hurricane relief fund to help the people of Long Island in the southern Bahamas. Click here for more information.

NEPAL EARTHQUAKE RELIEF 

 

Nepal Earthquake ReliefIn the wake of the devastating April 2015 earthquake in Nepal, the EPC is recommending World Relief and One Challenge (OC International Ministries) as relief agencies to which donations can be sent. OC International has been a co-op agency with the EPC for many years and has a significant presence in Nepal. Click here for more information.

Churches and individuals can donate in any of three ways: 

  1. Donate directly to World Relief
  2. Give directly to One Challenge
  3. Give to World Relief via the EPC (see below)

IRAQI CHRISTIAN RELIEF 

 

Iraqi Christian ReliefIn response to atrocities against Christians and others by militant Islamic groups in the Middle East region, including ISIS in Iraq, the EPC has endorsed Christian Aid Mission (CAM), an evangelical relief agency through which EPC churches and individuals can send relief funds.

Since June 2014, CAM has supplied funds to provide food, clothes, medical assistance, and shelter to refugees fleeing Mosul, Iraq. The organization reports that Mosul’s Christian population prior to the ISIS takeover in June 2014 numbered around 35,000 but was facing extermination in the wake of a July order to convert to Islam or be killed. Most have since fled the region to Kurdish-controlled areas in northern Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, and other locations. Click here for more information.

SIERRA LEONE EBOLA RELIEF 

 

Sierra Leone Ebola ReliefWith the Ebola pandemic raging in the west African nations of Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, and beyond, the EPC has launched an emergency relief fund to help minister in Sierra Leone though its partnership with EduNations.

Gifts to the fund will help assist EduNations’ ongoing efforts to prepare and ship Ebola-prevention educational materials, water buckets with lids, bleach, gloves, masks, bathing soap, and Bibles. In addition, donations will be used to help pay salaries of teachers and staff whose schools have been forced to delay opening because of the health crisis. Click here for more information.
