LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
A key strategy for the future of the EPC is creating a leadership development culture with the goal of long-term, sustainable, transformational growth. The seventh annual Leadership Institute is the premier building block to implementing that strategy.
Our speakers on Tuesday morning are Vincent Bacote, Professor of Theology and Director of the Center for Applied Christian Ethics at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois; and Sandy Willson, Pastor Emeritus of Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Our Wednesday morning plenary speaker is Ed Stetzer, Executive Director of the Billy Graham Center and Dean of the School of Mission, Ministry, and Leadership at Wheaton College.
On Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon, Andrew Brunson and Brad Strait will lead a three-part workshop, “Persecution: Building Effective Biblical Leadership Through Global Movement Wisdom.” Brunson is an EPC Teaching Elder imprisoned in Turkey from 2016-2018 and Founder of WaveStarters, a ministry focused on the Muslim world and the persecuted church. Strait served as Moderator of the 41st General Assembly and is Senior Pastor of Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church in suburban Denver, Colorado. Their Wednesday session will be a panel discussion, “Real Lessons from Real Persecution,” including Erick Schenkel, Setan Lee, and Clay Jones—each of whom has experienced persecution in their service to Christ.
In addition, five ministry-specific leadership development gatherings will be held on Tuesday. Click here for a complete lineup of Leadership Institute seminars. All Sanctuary sessions will be live streamed on the EPC website and GA smartphone app.

COMMISSIONER CERTIFICATION AND MEMORIAL FORMS
Instructions Letter
Overview of the 42nd General Assembly from Stated Clerk Dean Weaver, including instructions for the Ruling Elder Commissioner Certification and Memorials forms.
RE Commissioner Certification Form
For Clerks of Session to certify Ruling Elders elected to represent a church at the 42nd General Assembly

For notifying the Memorials and Appreciation Committee of EPC Ruling Elders and Teaching Elders who have passed away since the previous Assembly.
ASSEMBLY HOTELS
There are no “official” General Assembly hotels. Commissioners are encouraged to use a hotel aggregate site, such as Expedia, Hotels.com, Kayak, Priceline, TripAdvisor, or others to make hotel reservations. Airbnb and vrbo.com are increasingly popular options for groups and families wanting to reserve a private rental home. Ward Church is located at 40000 Six Mile Road in Northville, Michigan. Numerous hotels are in the vicinity.
LOCAL TRANSPORTATION
Rental cars are encouraged for those flying into Detroit, since there is no commercial shuttle service to Ward Church (which has plenty of parking).
Shuttle service between hotels and the church will not be provided. Carpooling is a good option (or using Uber or Lyft) for those who do not have personal transportation and do not want to rent a vehicle.
